Marvel at the Sunset in Tucson
With Tucson’s beautiful desert backdrop and relaxed charm, love is inevitable and romance is only natural. So, if you are struggling with something in your relationship, take some time out to rediscover this rustic city. There are many things to do that can reignite the sparks you and your partner once felt for each other. All is not lost. You can turn things around by finding things you can do together – things that you both enjoy – things that make you laugh and warm your heart – fun things. So, regardless of whether you and your sweetheart are looking for something exciting, or something more low-key, you can find it in Tucson. Are you ready to have some fun, and reconnect with your loved one? Yes? Great, let’s get started.
Listed below are activities that can help you find common ground in your relationship (while have a lot of fun):
Sentinel Peak “A” Mountain
If you are looking for a way to reconnect with your significant other, you should try Sentinel Peak “A” Mountain. Why? Well, because this mountain, located west of downtown Tucson, is busting at the seams with history. Did you know that it was once used as a lookout point for the Spanish? Or, that it originated when some rowdy, but highly creative University of Arizona fans whitewashed a gigantic “A” into the mountain as a way to pay tribute to the winning team. Cool huh? Well, it is all true. Now the famous “A” is red, white, and blue – just like our American flag. And, although the Pima village and plowed fields at the top of the mountain no longer exist, the 19th century home of John Warner (renowned publisher and teacher) still stands tall at the base of the peak.
How can this place be beneficial for your relationship? Well, this is a great way for you and your partner to learn something new – together. Explore the mountain and its extensive history. The peak is a wonderful place to witness a breathtaking view of Tucson’s spectacular landscape. And, if you want to see something truly dazzling, climb to the mountain’s peak at night and look down. Why? Well, because the shimmering city’s lights create an illusion of a sparkling diamond. This activity not only encourages bravery and taking risks, it also allows you and your partner to learn more about this great city – and each other.
Another way you and your honey can reconnect and learn about each other is by going to Tumamoc Hill. Why? Well, because it is an abandoned settlement, perched on a mesa top. It is approximately 2300 years old and filled to the brim with historical context (how humans lived centuries ago). It is interesting and “different,” and in this case “different” is a good thing. Why? Because it is easy for long-term couples to get “stuck in a rut” when it comes to their relationships. Following the same routine can cause you and your partner to “lose each other,” which is never a good thing. So, think-outside-of-the-box and discover things together by taking a sunset or sunrise hike up Tumamoc Hill. You and your sweetheart will not be disappointed, and it might just rekindle the fire in your relationship.
2nd Saturdays Downtown
If you want to add a little variety to your relationship, while having a lot of fun, you may want to consider checking out 2nd Saturdays Downtown. Why? Well, because it offers a variety of things to do as a couple, such as shopping, listening to awesome musicians and bands, grubbing at all of the cool places to eat, and/or going to private parties and events. And, each Saturday, there is a new artist and event, so live a little and get out and mingle. Sometimes being around others (as a couple) and doing something fun is enough to break the ice and call a truce, even for just that night. Regardless, just try to enjoy the evening and the activity, leave all that “heavy” stuff for your counseling sessions. Now is the time to let loose, if you know what I mean.
Sun Link Streetcar
If you want to create memories and have a good time at the same time, purchase tickets and jump on the Sun Link Streetcar. How fun is that? And, how random is that? Well, sometimes “random” is just what is needed to jumpstart your dying relationship. Be a “teenager.” Yeah, I said it – BE A TEENAGER. Quit being an “adult” for at least one night and just have fun. Don’t think about everything that is wrong in your life and relationship, and think about what is right in those areas of your life. So, think back to when you and your partner first met, and channel your inner teenager. Ride the streetcar all over downtown Tucson at night and watch the lights glim and listen to the pulsating music as you and your partner hold hands and marvel at the sights.
Tucson Ghost Town Tours
If you want to add a little “thrill” to your relationship, you probably want to go on Tucson Ghost Town Tours. So, purchase tickets to this creepy walking tour (FYI – you and your partner will visit at least 12 scary locations so be prepared) and explore downtown Tucson at night. What is so great about this activity? Well, it will give you and your significant other a chance to get closer. After a few blocks on this tour, listening to terrifying ghost stores and roaming through haunted abandoned buildings, you will be clinging to one another for dear life. And, at the end of the night you will be so glad you have one another. Plus! Plus!
