Hello. My name is Sevin Philips. I’m a licensed therapist, and I’m going to help you understand if we are the right Savannah therapist for you. I’m going to give you some information about how we work with our clients, what to expect when you come into therapy—especially helpful if you’ve never done this before—and also some basic information about how to pay for it.

First of all, everyone runs into roadblocks in their life where they don’t always have the answers, and we don’t know how to move forward. It’s important for you to know that, everyone does, it’s a very healthy thing to do to reach out and ask somebody for help, although I think it’s not so easy for many of us. Reaching out to a licensed professional is a very good decision. We help a lot of people move forward in their lives, so we have a lot of experience to bring to the table. We also have a lot of skills and tools to teach people how to create strategies that really work in their life, especially if the strategies you’ve been doing have not worked so well or maybe have outlived their use.

When you come into therapy, we’re going to ask you your thoughts, your feelings, and your opinions about your life issue. We’re going to get to know you, we’re going to have a very interactive conversation. I think it’s a very relaxed way to do therapy, and people find it very comfortable. Having that kind of conversation and deep dialogue, I often find that clients discover things about themselves that really help have a deeper understanding and more clarity about why things have happened in your life. And what this does for us is it helps us create how to move forward in a very unique way.

We are solution-focused therapists, so ultimately, we’re going to help you figure out a way to move forward in your life, we’re going to talk about that during your session, and we’re going to support you as you move forward in your life, practicing these strategies, in your own pace, of course.

If you want to get to know who we are, I might recommend that you watch some of the videos or read some of the articles that we have on our website. You might even find a life issue on there that you can relate to that might give you some information that’s helpful for you right now, and it’s free of charge.

If that is helpful for you, I would say that reaching out and picking up the phone might be the best decision. Our receptionist can handle basic questions, practical questions that you might have, but they can direct you to the therapist and you can talk to them on the phone without any commitment. Get to know the person before you decide to make an appointment. Tell them a little bit about why you’re coming in. They’re probably also going to let you know all the times that you can see them, both day and night. It’s a great way to feel comfortable and make a decision about whether the therapist is the right fit for you.

If you’d like help paying for therapy, I might recommend if you have any insurance, you can call them, you can ask them if they have what’s called out-of-network coverage. And if you do, we can give you an invoice that might help you get some money back. If you have anything like health savings accounts through work, sometimes people use those monies to help pay for therapy.

Ultimately, I hope this video was helpful, and I really encourage you, if you’d like to make a change in your life, to pick up the phone, reach out, and see if we are the right fit for you and if we can help you. Thank you so much.
