Hello. My name is Sevin Philips. I’m a licensed therapist, and I’m here to answer some questions for you to help you make a decision if we are the right therapists for you. Now, if you’ve never done this sort of thing before, I want to help you understand the process and hopefully ease some of your anxiety that you might be having about doing something you’ve never done before.I know reaching out to a stranger can be a very scary experience when you want to share some of the most deep and intimate things in your life, and hopefully, I can help ease that process for you. And if you’ve been down the road before, you’ve done therapy and you’re looking for a new therapist, and you want to find out if we’re the right fit for you, I’m going to give you some really pertinent and specific information about how we work so that you could decide for yourself.
Now, one thing I want to mention is we’re much like a coach or a mentor, we are solution-focused therapists, and that’s basically how we work. First off, we’re going to get to know you. We’re going to want to know your thoughts, your opinions, your feelings about your issue. It’s a very interactive process, so we’re going to ask questions along the way and be very curious. First of all, that’s going to help us understand you because you are a unique human being and we need to know what’s going on for you. And why it matters, it’ll help us help you develop a roadmap to move forward. And through that process of investigation, I often find that clients deepen their own understanding of their life issue and often have epiphanies and greater clarity about their issue that brings a lot of relief.
And at some point, with your own pace in mind, we’re going to develop the right kinds of tools and skills that are necessary to help you ease and move forward in your life issue to make some really effective, healthy changes in your life. We’re going to guide you along that process as you move forward at your own pace and support you along the way. And if we need to remap anything and make changes along the way, we can do that as well. We’ve been helping people for many years, and we have a lot of insights and ideas about how to move forward in our life in a really good way.
Some of the advice that we give is on the videos and articles that we have on our website, and that might be a great first step for you to kind of get to know who you are. You can also reach out on our phone number and talk to one of our receptionists who can answer basic information about costs and, you know, common location information you might have. But more importantly, they can direct you to the therapist in your local area that works for our center, and you can talk to that therapist. You can tell them a little bit about what’s going on without any commitment at all, and really get to know them, and see if you feel comfortable with that person. And if you do, you can make an appointment
Also, people help pay for therapy by using what’s called out-of-network coverage, you might have that through your insurance company, or some sort of health related benefit through work. You pay out-of-pocket to us, but we often give invoices to help people get reimbursed.
