Hello. My name is Sevin Philips. I’m a licensed therapist, and I’m the founder of our center. I’ve created this video to help you make a decision. I’m going to let you know some things about us, so that you can see if we are the right therapist for you, our approach. What to expect when you come into therapy, it’s pretty important, specifically if you’ve never done this sort of thing before. And I’m also going to give you some really practical information that I think everyone should know, specifically about how to help pay for therapy.
Everyone runs into challenges in their life, and we don’t always have the answers. Sometimes we get stuck. And I want to say this because a lot of times people don’t always know that that’s a very natural thing and it’s completely healthy to reach out and ask for help. Getting a licensed professional can be a very smart decision because we have a lot of experience. We’ve helped hundreds, if not, thousands of people through all kinds of life issues, so we bring that wealth of experience to the table. Also, everybody that I’ve hired has enough life experience to back up their skillset.
When you come into your first session, most likely, we’re going to ask you your thoughts, your feelings, your opinion about your life issue. We’re going to ask questions, we’re going to get to know you. It’s a very interactive and comfortable and natural process. We’re going to have a conversation. And it’s directed to getting to the heart of the matter of what’s happening in your life. And over the first couple of sessions, we’ll start going in a direction based on what comes up, and we’re going to help you figure out how to move forward in your life.
We want to create a roadmap, with your help, on moving forward and teaching you the right skills and tools that are necessary for you to create a happy life. We’re going to assist you during our sessions, but we’re also going to really support you to take these skills out into the world where they matter most. We’re solution-focused therapists, so we’re great listeners. We’re kind therapists, but we’re also very focused on helping you move forward. And I think everyone really appreciates that. You also know when it’s time to end therapy, because you’ve achieved your goals.
A great way to figure out whether or not we are the right fit for you is just to pick up the phone. You can talk to the therapist that you would be seeing, without any commitment. Tell them a little bit about why you’re coming in. You could ask them questions about when you can see them, both day and night. Make sure you feel comfortable with that person on the phone before making an appointment.
We also have a lot of videos and articles on our website, and there’s a lot of great solutions and tips on there that you probably could find an issue that you currently are facing and maybe some helpful solutions that can help you right now. It’s also a great way to get to know who we are.
Now, people pay out-of-pocket for therapy at our center, and sometimes people get assistance in paying for therapy through their insurance company. You can call your insurance company and ask them this question: do they have out-of-network coverage? And if you have out-of-network coverage, you can get an invoice from us and submit it to them, and seek some reimbursement. Sometimes people have health savings accounts through their employee benefit programs. You can verify if you do, and sometimes people use those funds to help pay for therapy.
