My name is Sevin Philips. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, and I’m the founder of the Relationship Counseling Center in Palo Alto, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Menlo Park area. We specialize in relationship issues. We understand that relationships are very profound. When things are going well, it brings us so much joy and so much happiness. Of course, when things break down, it can be devastating.

We create an environment where there’s no judgment and no blame, so you can get really clear about what’s going on between you two. With this clarity, clients often find they’re making healthy decisions in their relationship. We also provide tools along the way to help you out.

All of our therapists are not only licensed and experienced in what they do, we are also old enough and have enough life experience to back that up. It’s important for you to know that. We have some principles that set us apart. We offer a very interactive and direct feedback approach. We’re not only listening to you each and every session, we’re giving you feedback about your relationship and actively helping you. We have communication skills that we teach you. You’ll learn these tools in session and we encourage you to use these at home where it matters most.

The first step is to give me a call. If you reach out, I can answer all your basic questions. If everything makes sense, I’ll have one of our therapists give you a call. They can tell you all the times they’re available, both day and evening. Maybe you can tell them a little bit about what’s going on in your relationship. It’s a great time for you to get to know them before you meet them in person.

Our therapists are licensed. You might have some out-of-network coverage. If you do, we can give you an invoice and you might be able to get reimbursed. You also might have some flex spending or health savings account. Sometimes people use those to help pay for therapy.

We help people at all ranges of relationships. Sometimes people come in when they’re dating and they want to make new and improved decisions and be more discerning. Sometimes people come in by themselves when they’re in a relationship because they want to get clear about what’s going on for them and make healthy decisions for themselves and improve their relationship. Of course, we specialize in marriage counseling and couple’s counseling.

I have articles and videos online. You can check them out right now on our website. It’s free. It’s for you. You might find some stuff on there that can help you right now in your situation. It’s also a great way to get to know us before making the call.

If you’d like some in-person help, please reach out. I’m here to talk. Thanks.

So, I’ve had what I’ll call “classic” issues with therapy. Until about 18 months ago, I thought that I could just deal with whatever I needed to, without help. Yeah. Then, I had a couple of unsuccessful starts with a couple of other therapists; One who really sucked, and one whose style was more along
