So, first of all, all human beings run into roadblocks in their life and we don’t have the answers, we don’t know how to get around. We feel stuck. It’s completely natural, and normal, and healthy to ask for help. I only say this because in our culture, I think a lot of times many of us have difficulty in reaching out for help. Asking a licensed professional to assist you is a great decision; we have a wealth of experience. Unlike family and friends, which you may have to talk with, this is the one place where it gets to be just about you. It makes it pretty unique.
When you come in for your first session, we’re going to ask you what’s going on in your life. We want to know your thoughts, your feelings, your opinions about your life issue. We’re going to ask a lot of questions. We’re going to have a very interactive dialogue with you, and that’s important for you to know. Many people find it very relaxing and comfortable to come into therapy and have a conversation.
This conversation, though, is very specific. We’re trying to get to the heart of the matter. We want to get to the bottom of what’s really going on in your life. And over your first couple of sessions, we’re going to attempt to get there. And once we do, we want to assist you in creating a roadmap, moving forward in your life in a really healthy way.
We are solution-focused therapists, and we teach the skills and the tools that are necessary to move forward. We’re going to work on those with you during your session, and then we’re going to ask you to take that out into your life where it matters most, and make the greatest impact on your life. And, of course, we’re going to assist you in doing all of this in your own time, at your own pace.
A good first step is just really picking up the phone. You can talk to the therapist that you would be seeing, without making any commitment, and just get to know who they are. See if you feel comfortable on the phone with that person before you make an appointment. You can tell them a little bit about why you’re coming in, ask a question about what times they can see you, both day and night, and we usually can get to you and make an appointment within 24 to 48 hours.
Another thing you can do is, if you haven’t noticed, we have a lot of videos and articles on this website. It’s a great way… First of all, it’s free information. You can maybe find something that you’re currently going through and get some sort of tips or tools that you can apply now. It’s just also a great way to get to know us and the kinds of advice that we give.
Now, people pay out-of-pocket for therapy at our center; however, if you have what’s called out-of-network coverage, you can call your insurance company and ask, sometimes we can give you an invoice to help you seek reimbursement. Also, sometimes you might have an employee benefit program, something like health savings accounts. Those sometimes can be used to help pay for therapy, and a lot of people don’t know that.
I hope this was helpful information. Most importantly, the message I want to leave behind is: please reach out if you want to take the next step in your life. Let us know what we can do. Thank you.[/toggle][/accordian][/one_half][/fullwidth][fullwidth backgroundcolor=”no” backgroundimage=”” backgroundrepeat=”no-repeat” backgroundposition=”left top” backgroundattachment=”scroll” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderstyle=”solid” paddingtop=”45px” paddingbottom=”45px” paddingleft=”0px” paddingright=”0px” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][one_half last=”no” class=”” id=””][title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”double” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Counseling Specialties[/title][checklist icon=”fa-check” iconcolor=”” circle=”” circlecolor=”” size=”small” class=”Speciallist” id=””][li_item icon=””]Interpersonal Issues[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Marriage Counseling & Couples Therapy[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Relationship and Intimacy Issues[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Premarital Counseling[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Sexual and Emotional Disconnect[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Infidelity[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Parenting[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Fighting and Defensiveness[/li_item][li_item icon=””]LGBTQ Adults[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Life & Career Transition[/li_item][li_item icon=””]Life & Career Transition[/li_item][/checklist][/one_half][one_half last=”yes” class=”” id=””][title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”double” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Mobile Therapist Locations[/title][map address=”Mobile, AL 36602″ type=”roadmap” map_style=”default” overlay_color=”” infobox=”default” infobox_background_color=”” infobox_text_color=”” infobox_content=”” icon=”” width=”100%” height=”300px” zoom=”10″ scrollwheel=”yes” scale=”yes” zoom_pancontrol=”yes” popup=”yes” class=”” id=””][/map]
