Hello, my name is Sevin Philips. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I’m the Founder of the Relationship Counseling Center in Houston. We specialize in relationships. We help individuals and couples work on their relationship issues.
When couples come in, we create a nonjudgmental, non-blaming environment for you to get to the bottom of what’s really going on between you two. Most importantly, we want to give you the right communication skills and tools necessary to treat each other well at home.
One thing that sets us apart is we’re very interactive. We give a lot of feedback, and I think couples really like that. We’re down-to-earth. We also help people set up goals for their relationship. With these goals, you can track how you’re doing in counseling, and also, you know when it’s time to end because you’ve met your goals.Everyone I hire at Houston office, in addition to being licensed, is also old enough to have enough life experience to back up their skillset – and that’s important for you to know.People sometimes come in when they’re single and they’re dating because they want to make different choices, smarter choices, find the right life partner. Sometimes people who are currently in a relationship or in a marriage come in by themselves because they want to get really clear about what they can do in their relationship. Also, of course, we specialize in marriage counseling and couples therapy, and we can help you at any given time.
One of the first steps is really reaching out and giving me a call. I can answer – hopefully – any question you might have. If you feel comfortable, I’d have our Houston therapist call you immediately so you can talk to them on the phone. They might ask you a little bit about why you’re coming in, they’ll also tell you all the times they’re available to see you; both day and evening. We usually can get you in within 24 to 48 hours.
Another thing that I’d like to answer on this video is that we are licensed therapists, and as a result, if you have any out-of-network coverage through your work, we might be able to help you get reimbursement. You can call and ask your insurance if they cover out-of-network therapy, and if they do, your therapist can give you an invoice to submit to them. Also, if either one of you has any flex spending or health savings accounts through work, sometimes people use those monies to pay for therapy.
Another added bonus is on our website we have a lot of videos about relationship issues. I definitely believe you’ll find one of them that might relate to your situation. It’s a great way to get to know who we are, the kind of advice that we give, and it’s also a great way to pull some tools and advice that you can start using in your relationship right now.
Feel free to give me a call any time. Thank you.
