My name is Sevin Philips. I’m the founder of the Relationship Counseling Center in East Bay, Berkeley, Rockridge area. We’re located in Berkeley. We specialize in relationships. We understand that relationships are very profound. It brings us so much joy and so much happiness when things are going well, and as many of us know, when things break down, it’s sometimes the most difficult time of our life.

We create an environment where you can come in, and with our help, we slow things down, creating an environment where there’s no judgment and no blame, and be able to have a deeper understanding of what’s really going on between you two. With this clarity, clients often find they can make healthy decisions in their relationship. Of course we provide tools along the way to help you out.

All of our therapists are not only licensed and have a lot of advanced training in relationship counseling, we also are old enough and have enough life experience to back that up. It’s important for you to know that. We have a very interactive exchange. We give direct feedback about your relationship. We’re not just listening. We’re actively helping you make new decisions. We provide communication skills, which is great. We teach these tools in session, and of course we want you to use them at home in the real world where it counts.

In addition, we create relationship goals with your help. What’s really neat about that is you can track how you’re doing in your counseling because you have those goals. In addition, you’ll know when it’s time to end therapy because you will have achieved your goals.

People come to us at all phases of relationship. Sometimes people want to come in when they’re dating. They want to make new and healthy decisions and be more discerning when finding a life partner. Sometimes people come in by themselves when they’re already in a relationship. It can be really great to have a third party help you get clear about how you’re doing in the relationship and what you might need to do to improve yourself or the relationship. In addition, of course we specialize in couple’s therapy or marriage counseling. You can come in anytime.

The first step is to give me a call. I can answer questions for you, and if everything feels good, I’ll have the therapist call you immediately. You can talk to them on the phone and they’ll tell you all the times they have available, both day and night, so you can come in as soon as possible. You might tell them a little bit about why you’re coming in. It’s a great way to get to know them as a first step.

If you haven’t noticed, I have a lot of articles and videos on this website. They’re free. Please use them. You might find a relationship issue that relates to what’s going on in your life right now, and you can apply some of the strategies I give you on those videos. It’s also a great way to get to know us and what kind of therapists we are and what kind of suggestions we provide.

If you have any out-of-network coverage through work, you should check that out. If you do, we can give you an invoice and you may be able to get reimbursed. You might also have some flex spending or health savings accounts through work. In addition, clients sometimes use those to help pay for therapy.
I am here to help, so please give me a call. Thank you.

There were/are several issues we needed/need assistance with; one of which was/is a nagging problem for quite some time. We’ve had several sessions with him and every time our sessions ended I felt some breakthrough had occurred, no
