Hello. My name is Sevin Philips. I’m a Licensed Therapist, and I’m the Founder of the Relationship Counseling Center in Columbia, SC. I’m creating this video to help you decide if we are the right therapists for you. And if we’re not, I’m going to give you some really great information that everyone should know about counseling.First of all, we specialize in relationship issues – that’s what we do best. We work with couples and individuals. When couples come in, we’re going to create a safe environment without judgment and blame – you can get to the bottom of what’s really going on between you two. I often find that when clients get to the heart of the matter and have a deeper understanding, they’re able to make healthier decisions and treat each other more respectfully. On top of that, we’re going to teach relationship skills and tools to help you communicate. It’s really important to learn these kind of skills not only in session, but we’re going to have you do them at home where you can really learn to do them on your own.

Everyone I hire is not only licensed, but we’re old enough to have enough life experience to back up our skillset. We’re down-to-earth, we’re interactive. We’re not just listening to you each and every session. We’re actively helping you create a healthy relationship. Much like a relationship coach, we’re solution-focused. With our help and your input, we’re going to create relationship goals. And what’s really important about that, you can track how you’re doing in your counseling. Are you going in the right direction? Are you getting what you want out of it? Do we need to make adjustments? In addition, we’re all going to know when it’s time to end therapy because you’ve achieved your goal, and that’s essentially what we want as well.

Now, sometimes people come in by themselves who are in a relationship. They want to get clear about what’s going on for them and maybe learn how to make some healthy decisions on their own. Sometimes people come in who are dating wanting to find that right life partner, and we can be very helpful. We do premarital counseling for those folks that want to set themselves up for success and get some good tools and strategies for being in a marriage. And, of course, we specialize in couples therapy and marriage counseling. We work with married and unmarried people. And we are also open five days a week.

One thing I want to let you know if you want to take the next step, is give me a call. I could hopefully answer any question that you might have. And if everything feels good, I’ll have the Columbia, SC therapist call you as soon as possible. They’re probably going to ask you a little bit about why you’re coming in, they’re going to tell you all the times that you can see them, both day and night. We usually can get you in within 24 to 48 hours. And it’s just a great way to get to know the person that you’re going to be seeing.

If you haven’t noticed, I have a lot of videos and articles on my website. I really encourage you to check it out because, first of all, you’re going to get a lot of information—it’s free—about great tips and tools around relationships. You’re probably going to find an issue that you can relate to right now. But mostly, you’re going to get to know who we are, the kinds of therapists that we are, and the kinds of advice that we give.
If you’d like to take the next step, let me know. Thank you.

Contrary to popular belief, my hubby and I don’t have a perfect marriage, but who does, right? There were/are several issues we needed/need assistance with; one of which was/is a nagging problem for quite some time. We’ve had several sessions with him and every time our sessions ended I felt some breakthrough had occurred, no

So, I’ve had what I’ll call “classic” issues with therapy. Until about 18 months ago, I thought that I could just deal with whatever I needed to, without help. Yeah. Then, I had a couple of unsuccessful starts with a couple of other therapists; One who really sucked, and one whose style was more along
